Paypal amends User Agreement for India

Posted by Sumit Rana

Heya frnds how r yo??? Today i am having a bad news for all friends who uses paypal...

Last year, PayPal went through some strenuous guidelines and regulations laid down by Reserve Bank of India. Thankfully, PayPal did restore the e-withdrawals for India. Today Paypal has sent out a 30-day advance notice for Indian users to comply with the new guidelines. From March 1, 2011 onwards Indian PayPal users won't be able keep PayPal account balance and won't be able to receive payments more than $500 per transaction. As surprising it may sound, PayPal has made these amendments to "comply with the RBI guidelines" laid down for the online payments services.

Basically these are the three amendments in PayPal User Agreement for India that would be effective from 1 March, 2011.

- PayPal won't let Indian users receive payments for more than $500 per transaction
- Indian Users won't be able to keep money in their PayPal account balance.
- Customers will have to link their Credit Card to their PayPal account for money to Indian PayPal account users.

Here's the email sent out to PayPal users:

Dear user,

As part of our commitment to provide a high level of customer service, we would like to give you a 30-day advance notice on changes to our user agreement for India.

With effect from 1 March 2011, you are required to comply with the requirements set out in the notification of the Reserve Bank of India governing the processing and settlement of export-related receipts facilitated by online payment gateways ("RBI Guidelines").

In order to comply with the RBI Guidelines, our user agreement in India will be amended for the following services as follows:

- Any balance in and all future payments into your PayPal account may not be used to buy goods or services and must be transferred to your bank account in India within 7 days from the receipt of confirmation from the buyer in respect of the goods or services; and

- Export-related payments for goods and services into your PayPal account may not exceed US$500 per transaction.

We seek your understanding as we continue to employ our best efforts to comply with the RBI Guidelines in a timely manner.

We regret any inconvenience caused to you and hope the advance notice will enable you to plan your future use of our services accordingly. For further information, click here.

If you have any questions, please contact PayPal customer support by logging into your PayPal account and clicking on 'contact us' at the bottom of the page. We sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support.

Sincerely,

The PayPal Team

More details about the same can be found "https://www.paypal-apac.com/india/" here. PayPal has been forced by RBI to comply with the rules laid down in order to meet requirements for facilitating export-related receipts. In short, PayPal has made it difficult for Indian users to use its service - Thanks to RBI. Now several India users are bound to opt for PayPal alternatives.

Facebook Struggling With Voice Calling

Posted by Sumit Rana

If you aren't already sick of seeing Facebook in the news, here's another one. Recent activity suggests Facebook is playing around with voice calling. At the end of last year, Facebook and Skype announced a partnership where your Facebook contacts could be integrated into your Skype call list, but we haven't seen any function of Skype integrated into Facebook. However, recently, as one image shows, Facebook added the option of 'call friend' in its chat section.
This option quickly disappeared but the little amount of time it was available was enough to fuel countless rumours.

Facebook chat hasn't proved to be popular by any means and Facebook's latest "messages, not email" announcement shows that Facebook wants to be the place you communicate everything from. However, when asked to comment,a  Facebook spokesperson made an unexciting statement, saying "We don't comment on rumor and speculation and have nothing to announce at this time."

New feature in facebook- POST POST

Posted by Sumit Rana

Tired of clicking the More button on the Facebook updates’ stream? Go to PostPost. PostPost is a free web app that formats everything on your Facebook account like a newspaper. The newspaper look helps you check all the status updates, image uploads, videos on a single page. Check out the snapshot of my Facebook Newspaper below.

Use of PostPost is absolutely free and as the service grows I think they will add new features. There are a number of things that I personally want in the service:

- Ability to reorganize the layout (drag-n-drop).

-Marking certain source “Important” so that they get higher priority.

Check out the video to get a better idea of PostPost:

Try out PostPost and let me know what you think about the service!

The Trashmaster: Featuring GTA IV scene

Posted by Sumit Rana

While there have been many fan made machinima, they have always been short affairs. The guys at Rockstar were caught by surprise when a French filmmaker by the name of Mathieu Weschler spent two painstaking years perfecting his feature length opus based off the Grand Theft Auto IV game.

French filmmaker spends two years shooting the movie entirely in the GTA IV engine

Don'tgo by its humble machinima origins, this movie shot entirely using th GTA IV game engine, looks every bit as polished as its Hollywood counterparts, replete with slo-mo action sequences, professional editing and storyboarding.

According to the movie description, the "Trashmaster" divides his time between collecting garbage and cleaning up other forms of trash fouling up New York City's streets: dealers, small-time criminals, when the dancers in his favorite strip club are mysteriously killed. The Trashmaster finds himself hot on the trail of a particularly twisted serial killer. Now what could be cooler than a badass vigilante cleaning the streets off human trash? Here's the entire movie for your viewing pleasure:

Mobile numbers, addresses on Facebook "a security risk"

Posted by Sumit Rana

Sydney, Jan 17 (ANI): A security expert has warned that users should remove their home addresses and phone numbers from their Facebook accounts.

Graham Cluley said the website now gives third parties access to that information.

The website said in a blog post at the weekend that it would give developers of applications access to the contact information of users who install their apps.

"These permissions must be explicitly granted to your application by the user via our standard permissions dialogs. Please note that these permissions only provide access to a user's address and mobile phone number, not their friend's addresses or mobile phone numbers," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Facebook's Jeff Bowen as saying.

However, Sophos security expert Cluley, has raised doubts over the move.

"You have to ask yourself - is Facebook putting the safety of its 500+ million users as a top priority with this move?" he said.

"It won't take long for scammers to take advantage of this new facility, to use for their own criminal ends."

Cluley advised that users should take personal info such as home addresses and mobile numbers off their pages.

"You can imagine, for instance, that bad guys could set up a rogue app that collects mobile phone numbers and then uses that information for the purposes of SMS spamming or sells on the data to cold-calling companies," he said. (ANI)

Firefox 4 is going to keep the leadership

Posted by Sumit Rana

With the release date of the new Firefox 4, more and more information on the new contestant in the race for the best browser become available. The new spider monkey seems more and more to be really worthy replacement for the version 3 of the software. With the new compiler incorporated in the engine, the Jager Monkey JIT compiler, everything happens much faster and requires less memory than before. The highly optimized code allow much faster opening of pages, faster java code compiling and running, and everything with less RAM used, with less CPU cycles than every other browser.

The new code and compiler are so good they are more than three times faster than the old beta of Firefox 4 and the final 3.6.2. Such difference, even considering the fact it was achieved on the internal benchmark, is sure to make the fans of the orange fox happy. Every page containing java and most of the flash based games will work faster and much more reliably. And the creators of the browser promise an even faster version before it is finalized.

Another speed advantage will be the incorporate DirectX or OpenGL hardware acceleration. DirectX will be used to make the browser render faster the 3D content under Windows 7 and Windows XP (the latter is not possible with any other browser), while OpenGL will be used under MacOS and the future Linux versions. With the 3D content available on more and more web sites, this is certainly a great step forward.

The new version will not need additional plugins to better handle open tabs memory footprint, as included will be an (advanced) option of minimizing the memory occupied by the application by keeping only a few of the recently opened tabs in it. This approach was needed, a single web page can consume a large amount of memory, with the system becoming slower and slower with each new one cached in memory. On the other hand the advancements of home broadband connections do allow much faster reloading if the user decides to back to it.

Other changes have happened in the Panorama mode, with a help video to introduce users to the feature and a new search button.

Overall feel of the new beta 7 is that the product is near completion, but the release date is still set for January 2011 to allow time for bugfixes and optimization.

Google launched URL shortening service

Posted by Sumit Rana

Google has released an API (application programming interface) for its Goo.gl URL shortening service, the company said in a blog post. Goo.gl is a URL shortener (like Bit.ly or TinyURL.com) released by Google in December 2009. And in late September last year, Goo.gl was made public for all to use.

A useful feature of Goo.gl URL shortener is that not only does it shrink long URL or Web addresses into small, shareable links, it also keeps track of all shortened URLs and analytics data tied to your Google account. Google confirmed that external third-party developers will be able to give users access to their Goo.gl URL shortening history in any app that uses the Google URL shortening API.

Google's Ben D'Angelo wrote this in a blog post announcing the Goo.gl API for third-party developers, "You could use these features for a wide variety of applications, enabling behaviors ranging from auto-shortening within Twitter or Google Buzz clients to running regular jobs that monitor your usage statistics and traffic patterns."

While this is good news for heavy users of Twitter and Google Buzz or other micro-blogging sites through third-party apps like TweetDeck or others, McAfee predicts increased URL-shortening exploits as a prime security threat for 2011.

Organize your Facebook profile uniquely

Posted by Sumit Rana

Few days back facebook released the new facebook profile layout which is completely different from the old one. One feature was very much new was Photostream which showed your recently tagged photos under your profile name below the new bio.

Someone discovered to use tagged photos in photostream creatively to design the new facebooklayout hack. See this example:-.

The above image is a demonstration of the effect that can be achieved with tools below which will allow you to easily turn any image into what you see!

How to use Facebook profile image trick

1. PicCut is an useful  online tool that allows you to upload large picture and it will automatically slice up the image according to the size requirements of the facebook new profile photo image trick

An useful addition to this tool is it lets you select the no. of lines in your profile bio. If your profile bio is 1-2 lined then the alignment of the photostream thumbnails is non proper making it look mis-aligned.

2. PicScatter is a similar tool like PicCut you can use with the new Facebook profile to make amazing profile pictures, with an added advantage to directly upload the image and thumbnails to yourfacebook profile. This makes it easily to implement the facebook new profile photo hack to your profile

As soon as you’ve uploaded your image, you can zoom in and out, drag it around and tell it how many lines of bio (info-text) you have. This last option can help you see if it’d be better to add or remove a bio line to optimize the photo hack effect. When you’re finished, you can download the individual image files in a compressed archive (pic_scatter.zip) or publish them instantly to Facebook. (detailed guide on ampercent)

Using above two websites create Facebook profile photo hack

Step 1: Upload your desired picture and let PicCut or PicScatter to generate the correctly sliced up    profile image and 5 thumbnails.

Step 2: Download the generated ZIP file of your images, or manually save them.

Step 3: First, set the image named "profile-pic.jpg" as your Facebook profile picture.

Step 4: Create a new photo album, then upload the other images in the order of their filenames.

Step 5: Tag yourself in all 5 photos, starting with "image5.jpg" and ending with "image1.jpg."

Step 6: Hide any tagged photos you do not wish to display on your profile. That’s it!

also there are some other tools to creat this hack

# FBcrop (Link) is an online tool that duplicates the effect of the facebook profile hack in 3 easy steps. It gives a higher level of customizability compared to other methods currently available and works by directly uploading to your facebook account.

 # Profile Banner App (Link) is a facebook app that let you use the new facebook profile image trick directly from facebook. They feature cool photos compatible with the facebook profile hack in different categories like the holidays etc. in case if you are out of ideas or photos.

Some more similar online tools for generation profile hack photos are MyPeex.com, ProfileGen.com,FullPagePic.

Hope you like using these tools. Here are some of the most awesome facebook profile image hack tricks implemented creatively below…(more here)

Set reminder for your visitors

Posted by Sumit Rana

Do u think that your visitors may forget to comeback to your blog. So remind your visitors when they visit your blog.A new of reminder introduced by a Remind this.It is very easy to use and simple installation process.check out the demo below
DEMO-:

now when any visitor move cursor over this button the reminder set for the visitor.

This is a great way to encourage repeat visits and increase traffic to your website

Signing up for your button is free and simple. Once you sign up, the control panel gives you access to account settings, button setup, button management and statistics. When creating your button, you get to choose the position and style of the button. It would be nice to be able to change the wording on the button. Of course, if you’re pretty handy with Photoshop you could create your own button image to use in place of the RemindThis default ones.

VIEW YOUR STATISTICS

It’s great that RemindThis does offer statistics because this way you can see if visitors are actually using your button. You’ll be able to see the total number of email notifications sent for each button that you setup. You can also filter your results for a specific range of dates.

While RemindThis is a great blog tool, it does seem to be a little lacking in some areas. Let’s hope to see some improvements that will not only benefit blog and website owners, but also the visitors who opt to use the RemindThis button on your site.
